Missouri Soccer Announces 2007 Spring Schedule

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The University of Missouri soccer team has announced its 2007 spring schedule, highlighted by a home contest against Southeast Missouri. The Mizzou soccer team will play in a total of six games, including three in the Iowa Bubble Tournament. Mizzou opens their spring schedule on Saturday, Feb. 24 at the Iowa Bubble Tournament in Iowa City, Iowa.

The Tigers open the indoor tournament against host Iowa at 9 a.m., followed by games against Drake at 11:30 a.m. and North Dakota State at 2 p.m.

The Tigers return to the field on Saturday, March 10 as the squad hosts SEMO at Walton Stadium at 2 p.m. The Redhawks are coming off a 10-8-2 season where the team qualified for the NCAA Tournament as the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament champions.

On Saturday, April 7, Mizzou travels to St. Louis, Mo., to face Big Ten Conference opponent Indiana at 1 p.m. Indiana posted a 9-7-4 mark in 2006.

The Tigers again hit the road on Friday, April 20 to face Missouri State at 6 pm at Liberty High School in Liberty, Mo. The Bears finished their 2006 campaign with a 1-0 overtime lost to Drake in the semifinals of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament to end the year 10-9-2.

Mizzou concludes their spring season with the annual Alumni Game at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 28 at Audrey J. Walton Stadium. Missouri will use these games as a great building block heading in to the summer and in preparation for the fall season.
