MIZZOU MEETS KANSAS FOR FIRST TIME THIS SEASON
Looking to snap a four-game losing streak, Missouri travels to Lawrence, Kan., to face arch-rival Kansas for the first time this season on Wednesday night ... the last time these two schools met resulted in a 81-71 Jayhawk win in overtime at Allen Fieldhouse on Feb. 25 of last season.
MIZZOU-KANSAS SERIES HISTORY
Missouri and Kansas meet on the hardwood for the 70th time on Wednesday ... KU holds a 36-33 series lead and a 17-10 edge in Lawrence ... MU is 10-7 against KU and 4-4 in Lawrence under Cindy Stein ... Kansas records list the series with an additional Jayhawk win on Nov. 25, 1973, in Springfield, Mo., but Missouri didn't officially sponsor women's basketball until the 1974-75 season.
BORDER SHOWDOWN ON VALENTINE'S DAY
The schedule-makers in the Big 12 office set the first Border Showdown battle of the women's hoops season on Feb. 14 ... the schools have played one other time on Valentine's Day, with KU claiming a 60-59 win in Columbia in 1990 ... as for the 2006-07 Border Showdown present by the Midwest Ford Dealers, MU currently holds a 8.5-7.0 lead in the fifth year of the series ... Wednesday's winner will earn 1.5 points for their school with the winner of the regular-season finale taking another 1.5 points, and any Big 12 Championship match-up would earn a 0.5 bonus point for the victor.
WHAT'S LEFT FOR THE TIGERS?
Entering its final five regular-season games, Mizzou will play two at home and three on the road ... the combined Big 12 records of the four remaining opponents is 23-21 (.523) ... following Wednesday's game at KU (2-9), MU will travel to Nebraska (9-2) on Saturday, face Kansas State (4-7) at home, play at Oklahoma (8-3) and conclude the Big 12 slate with KU on Senior Night at Mizzou Arena.
MIZZOU AMONG THE LEAGUE'S ELITE IN SHOOTING PERCENTAGE
Missouri enters the KU game ranked first in the Big 12 in FT Pct. (.794), second in FG Pct. (.358) and tied for fifth in FG Pct. (.428) ... Mizzou and Texas A&M are the only two schools to rank in the top-half of the league stats in all three categories.

Missouri enters the Kansas game ranked third in the nation in free throw percentage at .794 ... ironically Mizzou has shot better in its 10 road & neutral games (.815) than in its 14 games at Mizzou Arena (.779) ... the Tigers current FT pct is on pace to shatter the single-season school record (.754 in 2002-03) and is threatening the Big 12 mark (.774 by Colorado in 2001). ... MU is ahead of Iowa State (.733) and Nebraska (.712) in the league ledger.
SAVANT NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT
Senior F Carlynn Savant was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District University Division Second Team for her efforts on the court and in the classroom ... after graduating with a bachelor's degree in Psychology with a 3.45 GPA, she has a 4.00 GPA in course work towards her master's in Educational Counseling Psychology ... she is the third player to earn Academic All-District honors since Head Coach Cindy Stein arrived in Columbia in 1998 ... she has been named First Team Academic All-Big 12 each of the last two seasons.
