COLUMBIA, Mo. - Missouri sophomore Adrianne Perry was named the Big 12 Conference Gymnast of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. The award is the first of Perry's career and marks the first time since 2005 that a Mizzou gymnast has earned the award.

In the Tigers' 194.775-192.700 win over SEMO on Friday, Perry claimed the all-around crown with a career-high 39.500, which marks the highest such score by a Big 12 gymnast this season and the fifth-highest total in Tiger history. The sophomore also took home the vault, beam and floor titles with scores of 9.950, 9.850 and 9.875, respectively. Her vault score also set a new personal best and tied the third-highest score in the Mizzou record books.

On the national stage, Perry currently ranks 30th in the all-around, tied for 67th on bars and 72nd on floor. Additionally, she is third in the all-around, ninth on bars, 12th on floor and 25th on beam and 26th on vault in the South Central Region. Perry has won two all-around and seven individual event titles this season.

Last season, Perry was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year and narrowly missed All-America honors on balance beam after qualifying for the National Championships as an individual all-around competitor.

The most recent Missouri gymnast to earn gymnast of the week honors was Alisha Robinson, who last claimed the award on March 8, 2005.
