Baton Rouge, La. - In a battle between two Tiger programs, the Missouri softball team (2-2) came up short against ninth-ranked Louisiana State (LSU, 3-0), 7-1, in its fourth game of the Easton Tiger Classic in Tiger Park. Missouri managed only one run on six hits, allowing LSU seven on 16.

Junior Amy Henke (Florissant, Mo.) helped Missouri to its sole run of the game. Leading off in the bottom of the fifth inning, Henke laid down a bunt single to reach first and advanced to second on senior Leanne Bowers' (Arnold, Mo.) groundout to short. Senior second baseman Sarah Stringer (Auxvasse, Mo.) took her turn at the plate for the Tigers and singled down the left field line to send Henke over to third. Redshirt junior Micaela Minner (Sanger, Texas) was tagged out at first in her at bat, but allowed Henke enough time to score Missouri's run. Henke was 2-for-3 at the plate in today's outing against LSU. Earlier in the game, Henke notched a two out single to short to help senior catcher Kathy Masterson (St. Louis, Mo.) move into scoring position.

The Tigers of LSU had three, two-run innings. Scoring first in the top of the second, catcher Kristen Hobbs hit a home run over the left field wall. Hobbs' teammates came up with an additional three hits in the inning to score their second run of the game.
