Mizzou-Colorado Series History
Sunday's game marks the 61st all-time meeting between the schools, with CU holding a 35-25 overall lead following its 71-59 win in Boulder on Jan. 3 ... the Tigers hold a 18-12 edge in games played in Columbia ... this is the fifth-longest series in MU women's basketball history (70
with Kansas State, 69 with Kansas, 63 with Iowa State and 62 with Nebraska).
Tigers Taking Care Of The Ball
Without question the 2006-07 Missouri team is one of the best in both school history and on the national scene in regards to taking care of the ball ... the Tigers currently lead the Big 12 and rank 28th nationally with 15.1 turnovers per game ... in the last 11 games Mizzou has averaged
13.8 tpg (with 10 games having 15 or less), resulting in a decrease from 16.9 (11 games ago) to 15.1 ... the Tigers have committed the same or fewer turnovers than their opponents 16 times (out of 19) this season and are 12-4 in those games.
Minutes Tight In Big 12 Play
As with most school around the country, when conference play hits coaches usually employ a little shorter bench or go with certain players longer in tighter ball games and that is no different for Missouri ... Mizzou has used a rotation of 9-11 players in its six league games with three
players logging the majority of floor time ... MU is the only team in the league with three players ranked in the Top 15 in minutes played in league games only ... seniors Carlynn Savant and EeTisha Riddle are averaging 37.8 (2nd) and 36.5 (9th) minutes per game, respectively, with sophomore Alyssa Hollins logging 35.5 mpg (11th).
Hollins Deadly From Outside
By virtue of those career-high six 3-pointers made at Texas Tech sophomore G Alyssa Hollins has now drained a team-high 43 triples this season which now places her eighth all-time in Mizzou's single-season record book ... her 2.4 3's per game lead the Big 12 and rank 44th in the nation ... her .467 3-FG pct ranks fourth in the Big 12 and sixth in the nation ... sitting 23 made 3's shy of the MU record she is projected to make her 66th of the year in 10 games - which is Mizzou's Feb. 25 game at Oklahoma.
EeTisha Excellent In Big 12 Play
Senior C EeTisha Riddle has stepped up her performance with the Big 12 season underway ... in Mizzou's six games she is averaging 18.7 points and 9.3 rebounds with four-consecutive double-doubles ... since being held to single digits in scoring at Saint Mary's 14 games ago, she has
averaged 18.5 points on 52 percent shooting, 8.4 rpg and has 24 assists, 14 blocks and 23 steals ... she currently ranks 67th nationally in FG Pct (.512).
Don't Foul! Don't Foul!
Missouri ranks second in the Big 12 in fewest personal fouls (14.8 fpg) ... in 38 halves of action, Mizzou has only allowed the opposition to reach the foul bonus 23 times and the double bonus just nine times (with four of those coming in both halves of the same game) ... in last
Wednesday's game at Texas Tech, the teams combined for just six violations in the first half ... Mizzou's season low for a half is 3 (vs. South Dakota State and at Tech - both in the first half) and for a game is 7 (against South Dakota State).
