BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Missouri men's and women's swimming and diving teams were defeated in a dual meet for the first time in three months on Saturday when Indiana got the better of the Tigers. The men fell 153-136 and the women were defeated by a score of 166-121.
The Mizzou men conclude their dual meet season with a 5-2 mark, while the 24th-ranked MU women are now 7-2.
Junior Bennett Clark continued his dominance in the 50 and 100 freestyle events as he won gold in both races. He concluded the dual season undefeated in both races with winning times of 20.24 and 45.01, which were just shy of his season bests, both of which rank among the top-30 in the nation this year. He anchored the Tigers' 200 medley relay with a lightning-fast split of 19.75 - more than a second faster than any of the other 27 racers.
Junior Alex Zasadny and sophomore Gilad Kaufman took the top two spots in the 200 butterfly for Mizzou. The duo came back later in the meet in the 100 fly and touched second and third in times under 51 seconds.
On the women's side, sophomore Jill Granger led a one-two MU finish in the 400 IM with a time of 4:25.76. Junior Jill Bastien was second in 4:27.92.
Missouri's women will swim at Nebraska next Saturday to conclude their dual season. The Big 12 Championships for both teams are Feb. 14-17 in College Station, Texas.
