Jan. 11, 2007

The Missouri swimming and diving teams will open the second half of their 2006-07 season with their final two home meets this weekend, on Friday against Missouri State at 6 p.m. and Saturday with the women hosting Iowa State at 1 p.m.

Missouri enters the weekend ranked 24th on the women's side with a 6-1 record, while the men are receiving votes and have posted a 5-1 mark in duals this season.

The meets will mark the final home events for five seniors - Amy Charley, Shannon Hogan, Kim Massaro, Rachel Wender and Nate Zabel.

The Tigers will look to trim their times from a very impressive first half of the season that saw five athletes post nine NCAA Provisional Qualification Times and another qualify for the NCAA Zone Diving Championship.

Mizzou athletes also broke eight school records during the opening three months of action.

Missouri State's women are 3-6 while the Bears' men are 4-3. Iowa State's women are 5-1 overall.
