First Winner Chosen in Sun Bowl Ticket Donation Program

Dec. 18, 2006

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- - Michael Taylor of St. Charles, Mo. is the first winner of Mizzou's ticket donation program in which fans can participate to help send MU students, United State military troops and El Paso charities to the 2006 Brut Sun Bowl.

As part of the program, for every two tickets purchased and donated, fans are entered into a drawing to win a trip for two to El Paso to see the Sun Bowl. Winners will fly on an MU Athletics private charter flight to El Paso on Dec. 28th and return following the game. The winners will receive free tickets to the game, as well as free hotel accommodations and ground transportation while in El Paso.

Tickets purchased and donated by fans will first go to sending current Mizzou students who have signed up for free tickets. Any quantities left over will be given to United States military troops stationed at Bliss Air Force Base in El Paso, and to other El Paso charitable organizations, as selected by Brut Sun Bowl officials. As many as 10 sets of winners will be chosen for the trip package (valued at over $1,500), with one trip for two being given away for every 100 tickets donated.

Those wishing to purchase and donate tickets ($40 per ticket, including processing and handling fees for Internet orders) can do so either online at mutigers.com, over the phone by calling 1-800-CAT-PAWS (884-PAWS in Columbia), or by visiting the Mizzou Ticket Office in person at Mizzou Arena.
