Mizzou Volleyball Hosts United Way Day on Alumni Weekend

Nov. 2, 2006

COLUMBIA, Mo.--Saturday's Mizzou volleyball match in the Hearnes Center, starting at 6:30 p.m., featuring the Tigers and the Colorado Buffaloes will be United Way Day, presented by Cost Cutters. For every ticket sold for Saturday's match, Cost Cutters will donate $1 to the United Way. In addition, Saturday's match is part of Mizzou Volleyball Alumni Weekend in which over 30 former student-athletes will be on hand in a celebration of the program's past, present, and future.

An alumni match will take place Saturday morning, beginning at 9:30 a.m., and is open free to the public.

United Way Day is one of many community service projects that Mizzou volleyball has been involved in the past. Three times in the past two years, the team has hosted food drives that benefited the Central Missouri Food Bank. In addition, during various times in the year, the Tiger volleyball squad visits various Elementary schools and hosts clinics that help develop youths in not only volleyball, but in physical activity and teamwork.
