Mizzou Athletics Hall of Fame - Class of 2015
Berg came to Mizzou from rural Moose Lake, Minnesota as an unpolished talent, but used an impeccable work ethic and drive to become a leader of a volleyball program that was still in its infancy. Named 1st-team all-Big Eight Conference in both 1983 and 1985, she also earned Big Eight all-tournament honors in 1983 and became MUs first volleyball academic all-American in 1985. She was also academic all-Big Eight in 84 and 85. More than 20 years after her playing days had ended, she still held many school records including the MU career record for solo blocks (124), block assists (320), total blocks (444), blocks per game (1.40) and hitting percentage (.308). She also held the MU season records in solo blocks (56), block assists (173), total blocks (229) and blocks per game (1.99) and MU single-match records for digs, block solos and block assists. Berg was a team co-captain as a senior. After graduating from Mizzou, she earned a PhD in counseling psychology from the University of Illinois and joined the faculty at the University of Minnesota.
