Prior to Mizzou's 28-13 victory over Colorado last Saturday, the 3rd Annual Tiger Scholarship Day Tailgate hosted by the University of Missouri Department of Athletics was held on the Walsworth Family All-American Plaza and Mizzou Arena concourse.

Over 1,000 Tiger Scholarship Fund Members and their families were in attendance at the pregame event which ran from 9-11 a.m.

Over $30,000 in food and beverages was provided by Smokin' Chick's BBQ, Applebee's, Longhorn Steakhouse, Bread Basket Café, Lone Star Steakhouse, Backer's Potato Chips, C&R Supermarkets and the Coca-Cola Bottling Company. Outdoor Occasions and Peach Tree Catering Company assisted in the set-up of the event and the Mid-Missouri Cattlemen's Association and the Miller County Stockyards assisted in making the tailgate a success.

The Tiger Scholarship Fund and Mizzou Athletics donated the remaining food, which included over 1,500 hamburgers, 1,000 hot dogs, 3,000 buns, 34 gallons of potato and pasta salad and 1,000 bags of potato chips, to the Central Missouri Food Bank, along with plates, forks and cups.

"We are very appreciative of the donation from the Tiger Scholarship Fund and Mizzou Athletics," Peggy Kirkpatrick, Executive Director of the Central Missouri Food Bank said. "The Athletic Department has always been a very generous contributor to the Central Missouri Food Bank and we are thankful for all that they do."
