University of Missouri senior Amanda Pratzel won her first round match at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Championships Thursday in Tulsa, Okla. With the win, Pratzel advances to the round of 32, where she will face Wichita State's Stephanie Dalmacio on Friday. The other four Tigers in the singles draw lost their first round matches.

Pratzel took care of her first round opponent, Iowa State's Danielle Uscinski, in straight sets, winning 6-1, 6-3.

Tiger junior Chrissy Svetlic lost her first round match against Oklahoma State's Marta Tsivka, 6-2, 7-5. Senior Erika Josbena lost her match to Iowa State's Jill Palen in three sets, 1-6, 6-4, 6-4. Sophomore Raquel Wagner also lost her first round match in three sets, 6-2, 1-6, 6-4, to Nebraska's Wiveca Swarting. Tiger Freshman Katelyn McKenzie lost her match against fifth-seeded Eliziveta Avdeeva of Kansas, 6-1, 6-1.

The doubles competition started late Thursday night. Results will be posted on mutigers.com once they become available.
