TULSA, Okla. - - The Mizzou Men's Golf team took ninth place at the Big 12 Conference Championships, played at the Southern Hills Golf Course in Tulsa, Okla. The Tigers carded a final round 294 after a 304 in the second round, which was completed on Tuesday morning prior to the third round.
Senior Chris Mabry finished the tournament in a tie for 27th spot with a three-round total of 224 (78-76-70). Mabry's final round of 70 was the best third round by a Tiger.
Freshman Peter Malnati and senior Ben Scott placed in a tie for 34th spot with a 54-hole total of 226. Malnati completed his second round of 75 on Tuesday morning. He had the lowest round of the first and second rounds by a Mizzou player in the Championships.
Juniors John Kelly (227) and Shawn Jasper (231) finished in a tie for 39th and 49th place respectively.
Oklahoma won the conference title with a three-round total of 858, four shot ahead of second place Texas.
The second round of the tournament had to be completed after rain force the suspension of play on Monday.
