COLUMBIA, Mo. - The No. 9 Missouri Tigers kick off a busy weekend with a dual against Centenary on Friday, March 3 at 7 p.m. in the Hearnes Center. All fans who bring two canned food items to the meet will receive free admission while all donations will go to the Central Missouri Food Bank. Then on Sunday, March 5, the Tigers travel to Cape Girardeau, Mo., to compete in the Outback Invitational against Ball State, Centenary and host SEMO. The meet will begin a 1 p.m. and will take place in Houk Field House.
Mizzou owns Cat Classic once again...
The Tigers took home their fourth-consecutive and eighth total Cat Classic team title against Ball State, Northern Illinois and Pittsbugh on Feb. 24. With a 196.025, Missouri scored its highest score of the season for the second-straight week while the team set their season-high on bars with a 49.150 and tied it on beam with a 49.175.
Freshman Adrianne Perry claimed the all-around title with a career-high tying 39.300. Senior Lauren Schwartzman scored a 9.950 on beam for the third time this season to win beam and tied Perry for the floor title while seniors Jodie Heinicka and Sarah Zigler shared the bars title with 9.875s.
Nine Tigers competed in the individual event finals on Feb. 25 as Mizzou claimed all titles. Heinicka won vault with a 9.800, Zigler scored a 9.850 to nab the bars title, junior Amanda Pezzullo won beam with a 9.825 and junior Whitney Crater recorded a 9.875 on floor for the title. The Cat Classic titles were the first of Crater, Pezzullo and Zigler's career while Heinicka grabbed her third.
The impressive weekend for the Tigers marks only the second time in Cat Classic history a team claimed the team, all-around and all four event titles in the same year. Arizona also accomplished the feat in 1997.
Tigers No. 9 once again...
For the second-straight week, the Tigers are ranked No. 9 in this week's GymInfo National Top 25 Poll. This marks the fifth time this season and seventh in school history Mizzou has made the top-10. On individual events, the Tigers rank tied for first on beam, 12th on bars, 14th on vault and 15th on floor nationally. Below are Missouri's rankings in 2006:

Mighty Big 12...
For the fourth week this season, all four Big 12 teams are ranked in the top-10. Iowa State jumped two spots to fifth, Oklahoma is ranked sixth and Nebraska comes in at 10th.
RQS explained...
Teams and individuals will be ranked by their Regional Qualifying Score for the remained of the season. An RQS is calculated by taking the six highest scores of the season, of which at least three must be from away meets. The highest overall score is dropped and the remaining five are averaged. Missouri's RQS is 195.78 and was calculated as shown below:

The beam team...
Thanks to a season-high tying 49.175 on beam at the Cat Classic, the Tigers are now tied with No. 1 Georgia as the best beam team in the nation. At the Cat Classic individual event finals, Missouri swept the top five on beamwhile all six beam lineup members rank in the top-100 nationally.
Terrific Tigers... This week, Heinicka and Schwartzman are both second in the nation on different events. Schwartzman sits alone in second on beam with a 9.905 RQS while Heinicka is tied for second on bars with an RQS of 9.900. Additionally, Perry is 15th in the all-around, tied for 28th on floor and 35th on vault, Crater is tied for 22th on floor and 41st on vault, Pezzullo is tied for 37th on beam and Schwartzman is also tied for 32nd of floor. Freshman Alicia Hatcher, sophomore Katie Kluga and Zigler also rank in the top-100 nationally on events.
Tigers on TV...
The Cat Classic individual event finals will air this weekend on four different Missouri television stations:
- Fox Sports Net (Missouri only): March 4, 12:30 p.m.; March 6,1 p.m. (most likely blacked out in Columbia)
- KMIZ (ABC 17):March 5, 12 p.m. (serves as a lead-in for the men's basketball game)
- KQFX (Fox 38):March 5, 5 p.m.

About Centenary...
The Tigers will face Centenary for the second and third time of the season this weekend. Centenary is coming off a loss to LSU at home on Feb. 25 but posted its highest score of the season with a 190.425. The Ladies are 5-6 on the season, with three wins over Air Force and two over Wisconsin-Stout. Sarah Ball is the Ladies top all-around competitor, with a season-high 38.200. Against the Tigers on Jan. 20, Centneary scored a 190.100.

About Ball State...
The Tigers face the Cardinals for the second straight week as Ball State finished in fourth at the Cat Classic with a 187.900. On the season, the Cardinals are 1-10 but have shown dramatic improvement in the past few weeks. At the Cat Classic individual event finals, Jenna Tarkington took home third place on vault with a 9.750 while Lauren West tied for fifth place on floor with a 9.700.

About SEMO...
The Redhawks are coming off their best meet of the year at the Texas Woman's Quad meet. SEMO recorded a 193.050 to take second place behind Iowa (194.275) and ahead of Texas Woman's (191.225) and Wisconsin-Stout (183.500). At Texas Woman's, sophomore Danyelle Aber nabbed the all-around title with a 38.875 amd recorded two fourth place finishes on bars and floor and a fifth place finish on floor. She notched career-highs in the all-around, beam and floor at the meet.
