The Missouri Men's Golf team finished in 11th place at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship, the opening tournament of 2006 for the Tigers. MU carded a final round 313 at Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra, Fla. for a three-round final score of 927.
Senior Chris Mabry turned in a final round 74 to lead Mizzou on Tuesday and finish the tournament in a tie for 19th place with a 54-hole score of 228. Fellow senior Ben Scott shot a 78 in Tuesday's final round and finished in a tie for 34th place with a three-round total of 231.
Junior Shawn Jasper tied for 37th place after carding a final round 80. Freshman Peter Malnati tied for 57th with a final score of 238, while junior John Kelly finished in 77th place with a final score of 252.
UCLA won the tournament with a 54-hole final score of 896, followed by Texas Tech's 901.
Next up for the Tigers is the Matlock Collegiate Classic in Lakeland Fla. on Feb. 13-14.
