COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Missouri soccer program has announced the dates for three 2006 soccer camps held on University of Missouri campus athletic facilities.
The Day Camp is open to boys and girls in grades K-6. The camp will take place Monday through Friday the week of June 12-16 and run from 8:00 a.m., until 4:30 p.m., each day. The Day Camp focuses on basic skill training for the development of youth players and will feature skill competitions and a four v. four tournament.
This year, the Tigers will offer two overnight camps. The first Residential Camp is scheduled from July 16-20 and is for girls in grades 5-12. The boys' Residential Camp, for players in grades 8-12, is scheduled for July 30 - August 2. The Residential Camps will focus on individual creativity and attacking ball skills, as well as group play and positional training in an overall team concept.
Residential Camps provide campers with accommodations in on-campus dormitories, as well as an option for commuters participating at a discounted rate. Both residential camps focus on technical and tactical training, speed and agility training with the MU soccer team's strength and conditioning coach and also provide informational seminars for boys and girls preparing for life as a college athlete.
All Mizzou soccer camps are held on the University of Missouri campus and utilize several conveniently located playing fields and first rate athletic facilities. The quality staff includes the USSF and NSCAA nationally certified Missouri coaches as well as other recognized college coaches in the Midwest region. In addition, a full-time medical staff will be in attendance for all camps.
