Four-Time All-State Selection Julia Potter Signs With Mizzou Golf

Nov. 15, 2005

Mizzou Head Women's Golf Coach Stephanie Priesmeyer has announced that Julia Potter has signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) to join the University of Missouri Women's Golf team in 2006. Potter, a four-time All-State selection, led Penn High School in Indiana to three state titles in the last four years.

Potter's selection to the All-State team this season made her the only member of the team to be named All-State for the fourth-consecutive season. She was also a four-time All-Northern Indiana Conference selection and was the MVP of the NIC the past three years.

"We are very excited about Julia joining our golf team next fall," Priesmeyer said. "She is a proven team leader and champion. She has led her high school team to three-straight State Championships and she has also set numerous individual records in her senior season in the State of Indiana. Julia is a very competitive player and she loves to push her teammates to get better and she will be a huge asset to our team next year."

Potter tied for medalist at the Indiana State High School Finals in 2004 and received the Indiana High School Golf Coaches Association Mitch Winger Courage Award for her comeback from career-threatening back surgery. She was the co-medalist in Regulation at the 2004 State Championship and was the medalist at the State Sectional Tournament.

In 2005, Potter won the Indiana Golf Association State Junior Championship and set numerous high school records. Among the records set was a new IHSAA State Finals individual round record with a 68 in the second round of the 2005 tournament. She was the Medalist at the NIC Conference Championships, carding a round of 67 and the medalist at the State Sectional Tournament.
