Black Team Forces Game Five in Fall World Series

The Black team forced a game five in Mizzou Baseball's Fall World Series by defeating the gold squad 12-3 on Wednesday at Taylor Stadium. With the series tied at two, the fifth and deciding game will be played at 6 p.m. on Thursday.

Leading 3-1 heading to the seventh inning, the Black team took control of the game, scoring nine runs in the final three innings starting with a four-run seventh inning. Mizzou Black pounded out 18 hits in the game.

A trio of players, senior Trevor Helms and redshirt freshmen Bill Disselhoff and Scott Dunwoody, had three hits for Black and Disselhoff added three RBI in the game. Sophomore Evan Frey was 3-for-4 for the Gold team and drove in two runs.

Game five will start at 6 p.m. on Thursday and is free to the public.
