Gold Takes Lead in Fall World Series

The Mizzou Gold team took game three of the Fall World Series on Sunday at Taylor Stadium by a 5-2 score to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series. The Gold team had RBIs from five different players and senior Derek Chambers homered in the victory.

Senior Zane Taylor and junior Gary Arndt each had two hits for Gold. Freshman Aaron Crow allowed two runs on five hits in six innings pitched to take the victory. He struck out three batters in the game. Senior Taylor Parker pitched the final two innings to pick up the save.

Trailing 2-1 after three innings, the Gold squad put one run on the board in each of the next four innings, including Chambers' home run in the sixth inning, while holding the Black team scoreless for the final six innings.

The Gold will go for the series win on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Taylor Stadium. Game five, if necessary, is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
