Head Coach Tim Jamieson and the University of Missouri baseball team released its 2006 schedule on Tuesday. The Tigers will open the season on Feb. 9 in Charleston, S.C. taking on East Tennessee State in the Charleston Southern Invitational.

Missouri will take on Louisiana-Monroe in a three-game series the following week, before taking part in the Pepsi Baseball Classic in Gainesville, Fla.

After spending the first three weeks of the season on the road, MU will hold its home opener on March 1 against Illinois State. The Tigers then host Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Purdue in a pair of three-games series at Taylor Stadium.

The Big 12 Conference season will open up on March 17 with Mizzou traveling to Texas A&M. The Tigers also have conference road trips to Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas Tech.

Kansas State, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Baylor and Texas will each visit Columbia for a three-game series in 2006.

The Tigers are again scheduled to play two games in O'Fallon, Mo. taking on Saint Louis on April 19 and Illinois on May 17. Missouri will also take on Creighton and Southeast Missouri State in Kansas City as part of the Best of the Midwest Tournament on April 26-27.

The Big 12 Tournament returns to Oklahoma City, Okla. on May 24-28.
