Oct. 11, 2005

ST. CHARLES, Mo. - - The Missouri men's golf team took second place at the Missouri Bluffs Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Missouri at the Missouri Bluffs Golf Club in St. Charles, Mo. The Tigers improved from third place after round two to second with a 284 score in Tuesday's final round.

Freshman Ryne Fisher finished tied for fourth with a three-round total of 209 (70-70-69) in his first tournament as a Tiger. Senior Chris Mabry was two shots behind Fisher with a score of 211 (70-71-70), finishing tied for seventh.

Senior John Kelly placed 13th with a 54-hole score of 213 (71-70-72), while junior Shawn Jasper and senior Ben Scott finished tied for 25th place with a 217 score.

"First of all, hats of to Saint Louis," Head Coach Mark Leroux said. "I felt like we had a solid performance. The bright spot of the week for us was Ryne Fisher. For a freshman who has never seen this course to come in here and play the way he did, was very impressive."

The Tigers also had six players taking part in the tournament as individuals led by freshman Peter Malnati, who finished tied for 19th with a 215 total.
