Tigers Fall to Texas A&M

Columbia, Mo. - The #48 Missouri Tigers fall to 12-5 on the season and 2-4 in Big 12 Conference play following a 5-2 loss to the #38 Texas A&M Aggies. The loss also ends the Tigers' nine-match home win streak.

Texas A&M started the day on a roll, sweeping the Tigers in all three doubles matches, to earn the doubles point. This marks only the fourth time this season that Missouri has dropped the doubles point and the first time it has been swept in doubles competition this season.

Coming into singles play, Missouri needed to take four of the six singles matches to clinch the team victory. The Aggies were able to pick up points with wins at No. 1 and No. 4 but Missouri pulled out a close match with victories at No. 5 and No. 6 to bring the contest to 4-3 before losing the No. 2 match to give Texas A&M the 5-2 team victory.

The Tigers are back in action next weekend hosting matches with Big 12 Conference foe Kansas State and Border Battle rival Kansas. Missouri squares off against Kansas State on Fri., April 8 at 2:00 p.m., and then faces Kansas on Sat., April 9 at 11:00 a.m.
