Columbia, Mo. - The No. 13 University of Missouri Women's Golf Squad opens play at the Mountain View Collegiate on Saturday in Tucson, AZ. The two-day tournament will be played at the par-72, 5,988-yard Mountain View Golf course with 36 holes slated for Saturday and 18 holes set for Sunday. Mizzou will face off with six other Big 12 schools in the field which head coach Stephanie Coopers said will continue to prepare her squad for the Big 12 Championships which are just a month away.
"We are focused on competing well this weekend NS getting off to a good start on Saturday morning," Cooper said. "We have practiced well and are eager to get back out on the course this weekend against some top-notch competition."
The Tigers are looking to bounce back from an eighth place finish two weeks ago at the Betsy Rawls Invitational after they picked up a tournament win to open the spring at the Central District Invitational on Feb. 21-22. Competing for the Tigers in Tucson will be senior Maria Ohlsson (74.8 stroke ave.), junior Kelli Strubinger (76.3 stroke ave.), senior Mindy Bullard (76.5 stroke ave.), sophomore Stephanie Wavro (78.2 stroke ave.) and freshman Madde Augustsson (77.8 stroke ave.). Augustsson recorded the best outing of her career last time out at the Betsy Rawls. Competing as an individual, Augustsson shot a career-best total of 231, good for a 14th place finish.
