#72 Tigers Overthrow #46 Colorado

Columbia, Mo.- The #72 Missouri tennis team continues its winning ways upsetting Big 12 Conference foe #46 Colorado 4-3. The victory improves the Tigers to 7-2 on the season and 2-1 in Big 12 Conference action. The win is the Tigers first over Colorado since 2002-2003.

Missouri continues to dominate in pairs play, winning its third consecutive doubles point to take an early 1-0 lead. Needing three singles victories to take the match, the Tigers earned points at No. 1 and No. 3 as #63 Katka Sevcikova defeated Lynzee Kever 6-3, 6-2 and Yelena Olshanskaya defeated Jessica Vanderdys 6-3, 6-4, respectively.

The Buffaloes picked up the No. 2 match No. 5 matches tying the score. Mizzou's Carolyn Kramer came through clinching the Mizzou victory defeating Colorado's Gleisy Torres, 6-2, 6-4 in the final match.

"I'm very proud of the ladies," Head Coach Blake Starkey said. "There were so many heroes out there for us today, I can't even begin to name them. Colorado is a very good team and we're quite fortunate to get the win."

Missouri is back continuing the non-conference portion of its schedule hosting #75 Louisville and #65 Ohio State. The Tigers square off against Louisville on Fri., March 4 and face #65 Ohio State on Sat., March 5. Both matches begin at 2:00 p.m., in the Green Tennis Center. All Tiger tennis matches are open to the public.
