Missouri Head Coach Quin Snyder
On practice...
"We have had good practices all year, but we have not got consistent carry over. Without Linas (Kleiza) it is harder, suddenly our depth is not there, and we are not as deep as we thought that we were. This time of year we are trying to get better in practice and we know we have a huge game on Saturday."
On the progression of Thomas Gardner...
"Well I am pleased with his competitiveness I think that has been what allowed him to have success this season. He needs to continue to improve. I think there is a risk when you go from not playing so much to a more prominent role you get satisfied especially for a freshman, and we need him. Thomas has injected hunger into our team and he cannot be contingent on his jump shot going in. He needs to keep giving up defense and competitiveness."
On the mental part of shooting...
"When you are not making shots you can slide into a slump. When you see the ball go in it helps. I am looking for us to get on a hot streak ... I think we are better shooters than what we shot percentage wise this year. One of the things that affect that is our passing. ... We are making what could be easy shots harder by how we are passing the ball."
On the teams focus...
"I do think our focus has been on what is in front of us and the things we can control. ... This has been a challenging season no question, but it is far from over. There is a lot that is left to be written.
On the slow starts against Nebraska...
"We have had other slow starts ... some of it has been their shooting, it was not what we did not do it was them coming out and hitting three's at last year's Big 12 Tournament. Last game we came out flat on the glass and they got second chance opportunities. On the road last year we were down by 9 and won the second half, but that is something we would rather not do.
On taking things one game at a time...
"I think that is the most effective way to win as many as you can. You bite off one piece and chew the hell out of it. It does you no good to look beyond where you are right now. Nebraska is a tough place to win, and they are playing good basketball.
