Gates to Coach at 2026 USA Basketball Men’s U18 National Team Training Camp

Colorado Springs, Colo. - USA Basketball announced its coaches for the 2026 USA Basketball Men's U18 National Team Training Camp and Whitten Family Head Coach Dennis Gates is set to serve as a court coach for the camp with 35 players attending.
Training camp begins Thursday, May 21, with the 12-member team expected to be announced before the team heads to the 2026 FIBA U18 Men's AmeriCup, scheduled for June 1-7 in Leon, Mexico.
Making his USA Basketball coaching debut, Gates will serve on Anthony Grant's staff, joining Greg Kampe, Dusty May and Ritchie McKay, assisting as court coaches during the opening phase of training camp.
Entering his fifth season leading the Tigers in 2026-27, Gates has led Mizzou to three NCAA Tournaments in his four years on campus, including back-to-back trips the last two seasons for the first time since 2013.
