
#10 Missouri Overpowers #32 Utah State and #33 Boise State

Logan, Utah-Boosting their 2004 record, the #10 ranked Missouri Tigers topped #32 Utah State and #33 Boise State bolstering their record to 8-2. Scoring its highest road total of the year, Mizzou scored a 196.350 to best USU's 195.350 and BSU's 194.100.
Flipping their competition regimen, the Tigers fell out of their consistent routine opening the meet with a shaky floor rotation. Lindsay Davis started Mizzou off scoring a 9.825. Despite the powerful lead, Missouri counted two consecutive falls and a .10 out of bounds deduction dropping Alisha Robinson's score to 9.725. Two of the Tigers' top competitors surged energy back into the Mizzou effort rounding out the rotation scoring 9.900 marks. Andrea Nervig scored her third of the season and Lauren Schwartzman scored her third consecutive 9.9+ mark to bring the Tigers to a 48.700 floor total.
Picking up momentum on vault, Mizzou added a 49.175 team total to usurp Utah State as meet leader. Disappointed with her misstep on floor, Robinson came back to score a 9.900 vault to propel the Tigers. Schwartzman added a 9.850 while freshmen Whitney Crater and Amanda Pezzullo scored 9.825s. Katie Roets rounded out Mizzou's top-five scoring a 9.775-her second highest career vault score.
Kicking off the Tigers on bars, Davis shined scoring her highest uneven bar routine of the year with a 9.875 tally. Newcomer Sarah Zigler helped keep the Tiger scoring up earning a 9.725 to usher in freshman Kelley Andersen who scored a 9.825-her fifth 9.800+ routine of the year.
Veterans Robinson and Nervig capped off the Tiger's rally scoring the meet's highest marks on the apparatus. Robinson won the event scoring a 9.925 with Nervig taking second with a 9.900. Summing up Mizzou's rotation, bars specialist Jodie Heinicka performed an exhibition routine. Although her 9.900 was not counted toward Mizzou's 49.250 team total, it is her second routine scoring a 9.9+ this season.
Rounding out the meet on beam, the Tigers finished strong scoring a 49.225. Pezzullo opened the round performing her upgraded dismount for just the second meet this season. Successfully hitting the advanced move, she scored a 9.775. Keeping the Tiger momentum churning, freshman Miranda Boeckman scored a 9.875 tying her career-high on the apparatus.
Keeping Mizzou on track the Tigers finished with four additional 9.8+ performances. Davis (9.800), Andersen (9.850), Bridges (9.875) and Schwartzman (9.825) each helped Mizzou's cause maintaining their season consistency to help tie the Tigers' second-highest all-time beam total.
The Tigers continue their Utah tour competing against the BYU Cougars in Provo on Mon. Feb. 23 at 8:30 p.m. (MST).
