
Tigers Fall to Kansas State in Regular Season Finale

MANHATTAN, Kan.-- - The Missouri volleyball team fell to Kansas State 3-0 (30-28, 30-26, 30-22) in the regular season finale on Saturday in Manhattan, Kan. MU finishes the regular season 19-8 overall record and a 14-6 Big 12 Conference mark.
Kansas State (19-10, 13-7) led for much of game one, until a run by Mizzou tied the game at 23. The Wildcats would recover and build a lead of three at 28-25 and hold on for the 30-28 win to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
As in the first game, KSU would hold the lead for the majority of the second game. Missouri charged back, pulling within one at 25-24. But the Wildcats would close out the game with a 5-1 run to take a 2-0 lead into the intermission.
In game three, the Tigers held an early lead before Kansas State rallied to tie the score at 14. The game would remain close until the Wildcats put together a 7-1 run to finish the game and close out the match.
Jessica Vander Kooi led MU with 13 kills and a .346 hitting percentage, followed by Na Yang with 11 kills and Shen Danru with 10. Tatum Ailes had a team-high 19 digs for the Tigers.
The Tigers now will await word on the selections for the NCAA Tournament, which will be announced at 5:45 p.m. on Sunday on ESPNEWS. Mizzou will be looking for their fifth-consecutive bid to the postseason tournament.
The first and second rounds of the tournament will take place next weekend, Dec. 2-5.
