Evanston, Ill. - The University of Missouri women's swimming and diving team had a good open to the TYR Invitational, held this weekend in Evanston, Ill. After two days of competition, the Mizzou women stood in second place overall in the five-team meet.
Amanda Morford and Nicky Frazier led the way individually for the MU women, as they each picked up first-place finishes in the 100 backstroke (56.65) and 3-meter diving (422.00 points), respectively. Anna Massey finished third in both the 1-meter (237.50) and 3-meter (412.00) diving competitions. Megan Morford also had a pair of third-place finishes, as she took third in both the 200 individual medley (2:06.37) and 400 individual medley (4:27.82) races.
The team scores through two days of competition at the meet, hosted by Northwestern University, are:
WOMEN - 1. Northwestern (746); 2. Missouri (645); 3. Pittsburgh (591); 4. Southern Illinois (388.50); 5. Kenyon College (227.50).
