Evanston, Ill. - The University of Missouri women's swimming and diving team wrapped up a strong outing by finishing in 2nd place at the TYR Invitational, held this weekend in Evanston, Ill.
Mizzou finished 2nd in the five-team meet, with a three-day total of 996.50 points. Host Northwestern claimed the meet with a total of 1,113 points, while Pittsburgh was third with 903.50 points, followed by Southern Illinois (4th - 613.50) and Kenyon College (5th - 340.50).
Amanda Morford earned her second win of the meet when she won the 50 backstroke with a time of 26.82 seconds on Sunday. Mariona Costa also got a win for MU on Sunday, as she claimed first in the 200 breaststroke, with an effort of 2:17.58. Other highlights for Mizzou included Sarah Menefee, who finished second in the 200 backstroke (2:03.77) and the 400 freestyle relay team of Lindsay Palbykin, Amanda Morford, Taye Patterson, and Shannon Hogan, who finished second with a time of 3:26.66.
