Men's Swimming Finishes Third at TYR Invitational

Evanston, Ill. - The University of Missouri men's swimming and diving team wrapped up a strong outing by finishing in 3rd place at the TYR Invitational, held this weekend in Evanston, Ill.

Mizzou finished 3rd in the five-team meet, with a three-day total of 880.50 points. Host Northwestern claimed the meet with a total of 1,033.5 points, while Pittsburgh was second with 907 points, followed by Southern Illinois (4th - 691) and Kenyon College (5th - 485).

Matt North continued his strong meet, as on Sunday, he placed second in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:01.91. Chris Lukas finished 3rd and 4th, respectively, in the 50 backstroke (24.00) and 200 backstroke (1:49.59), while David Darmitzel was good for 3rd place in the 200 butterfly (1:52.47). The 400 freestyle relay team of Bennett Clark, Chris McCrary, Chirs Luke and Garrett McCaffrey also finished third, with a time of 3:05.13.
