Pusch and Crossett Earn Student-Athlete Honors

Columbia, Mo. - Junior soccer defender Erica Pusch and MU redshirt freshman placekicker Adam Crossett were named this week's Lathrop & Gage student-athlete of the week for Oct. 4. Both student-athletes hold above a 3.0 grade-point average in their respective majors, are strong on the playing field and dedicate numerous hours to their surrounding community.

One of only four juniors on the Tiger soccer team, Pusch hails from St. Louis and is one of the Tigers' strongest defenders. Pusch has started in all 12 of Missouri's games this season, scoring her first goal of the season against Oklahoma on Sept. 24. In the classroom, Pusch holds a 3.3 grade-point average in biological sciences. Pusch has helped the youth of Columbia, assisting with soccer clinics and participating in the Truman Club winter party.

A native of Liberty, Mo., Crossett is a walk-on member of the 4-1 Missouri football team. Totaling 24 kicks for 1,457 yards, Crossett holds a 60.7 average on the 2004 season. Crossett is a business major and holds a 3.74 grade-point average. Off of the field, Crossett volunteers his time to the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Football Funtime Clininc.

The MU soccer team will take on Kansas in the season's first Border Showdown with the Jayhawks, Friday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m., followed with a Sunday game against Iowa State at 1 p.m. The Tiger football team will travel to Big 12 competitor Baylor for a 9 p.m. Saturday night game in Waco, Texas aired nationally on the Fox Sports Network.
