COLUMBIA, Mo. - The University of Missouri cross country teams will travel to South Bend, Ind., for Friday's Notre Dame Invitational. On the women's side, nine teams will run against the women's team, ranked 23rd in the recent national coaches' poll and the men's team will go head-to-head with eight ranked teams in this first big test for the teams.
Among the women's competition teams including No. 1 Stanford, No. 4 Notre Dame, and No. 12 UCLA along with conference foe, Oklahoma, will be who the Tigers are gunning against in the 4:15 p.m., women's "Blue Division" race. The men's team will face No. 2 Stanford, #9 BYU, #13 Air Force, and #19 Miami (Fla.), among others in their race.
A large squad will travel by coach charter to South Bend beginning Thursday morning. Many of the freshman Tigers will take part in the open race which begins at 3:30 p.m.
