- Missouri's win against Ball State extended its winning streak on Faurot Field to eight. That is the second longest home winning streak in Tiger history and the longest since 1943.
- Missouri beat Ball State for the third consecutive time, increasing its combined margin of victory to 124-13. The Tigers' first victory was also in Columbia, on Sept. 7, 2002 (41-6).
- The Tigers' shutout was the team's first since Sept. 13, 2003, against Eastern Illinois (37-0).
- Missouri scored 28 unanswered second-quarter points. That broke the team's highest second-quarter output under Gary Pinkel of 21 set three years ago at Kansas on Oct. 20, 2001.
- Senior wide receiver Thomson Omboga's 49-yard punt return was the longest since Marcus James' 80-yard return for a touchdown in 2002 against Iowa State.
- Junior quarterback Brad Smith moved to 13th place on the NCAA career quarterback rushing list with 2,617 yards. Smith surpassed Michael Carter of Hawaii (2,534 / '90-93), Bill Hurley of Syracuse (2,551 / `75-79), Jamaal Lord of Nebraska (2,573 / '00-03) and Woodrow Dantzler of Clemson (2,615 / '98-01). Currently, Smith is 82 yards behind Jamelle Holieway of Oklahoma (2,699 / `85-88) for 12th.
- Redshirt freshman tailback Marcus Woods recorded his career-longest reception of 12 yards, breaking his old record of three yards against Arkansas State.
- Junior defensive back Marcus King recovered his first career fumble in the second quarter, which led to a Tiger touchdown.
- Smith connected with wide receiver Sean Coffey for a 16-yard touchdown pass. That was his 32nd of his career, tying him with Phil Bradley ('77-80) and Marlon Adler ('82-85) for second place all-time.
- Smith connected with senior tight end Victor Sesay for a 40-yard gain. Sesay's reception broke his previous best of 35 yards set this year against Arkansas State.
- Thomson Omboga had 127 yards in punt returns and fell just 28 yards shy of breaking the single-game high set in 1967 by Roger Wehrli.
- Junior tailback Damien Nash scored three touchdowns against Ball State, besting his previous high of two touchdowns.
- Transfer sophomore Brandon Massey intercepted his first career pass for a 13-yard return in the fourth quarter.
- Sophomore quarterback Brandon Coleman completed his first career touchdown pass to freshman wide receiver William Franklin for 41 yards. That was also Franklin's first career touchdown.
