Volleyball to Hold Annual Black and Gold Match on Wednesday

Mizzou Volleyball fans can get their first look at the 2004 Tigers at the annual Black and Gold Match at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in the Hearnes Center. A free youth volleyball clinic will be held prior to the scrimmage and an autograph session will follow the match. Missouri is coming off a 2003 season in which it advanced to its fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament and enters the 2004 season with expectation high. The Tigers will open up the season on Friday, Sept. 3 against Wisconsin in the Badger Challenge in Madison, Wis. The following day, MU will face Purdue in day two of the Challenge. The first home action for Mizzou will be in the 3rd Annual Quality Inn Tiger Invitational on Sept. 10-11. The Tigers will play at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m on both days of the Invitational. Wednesday's Black and Gold Match will be preceded by a youth clinic conducted by the Missouri coaches and players in the Hearnes Center Fieldhouse. Registration will begin at 4:30 p.m. with the clinic set to start at 5 p.m. Following the scrimmage, the MU players will be available for autographs on the court of the Hearnes Center and free pizza will be available.
