Paige Sports Arena Sold Out of Season Tickets for Men's Basketball Games

Aug. 16, 2004

Columbia, Mo. - The Paige Sports Arena, which will serve as the new home for University of Missouri basketball, is sold out of season tickets. Tiger fans have displayed their excitement and support for Mizzou heading into the 2004-05 season as every season ticket in the PSA has been sold. Season ticket sales increased by over 26 percent from 2003-04 during the select-a-seat process and the excitement heading into the season is at a fever pitch. "We have the best basketball fans in the country at Mizzou and their devotion to our program has definitely been apparent," Head Coach Quin Snyder said. "We are certainly looking forward to the upcoming season and the opportunity to play and practice in the Paige Sports Arena will be a tremendous benefit to our program." The only tickets that are available on an individual game basis will be 100 general public seats that can be purchased on the day of each game and those tickets that remain following student ticket pick up dates throughout the basketball season. Tiger fans can call the Tiger Scholarship Fund at (573) 882-0704 to be placed on a waiting list for season tickets in the future. "Certainly this shows tremendous commitment and support for Mizzou Basketball and Tiger Athletics," Director of Athletics Mike Alden said. "We are pleased that our fans have demonstrated their continued passion for our basketball program. The Paige Sports Arena will be a significant addition to our campus and community and most importantly, will be a great place to watch college basketball." The $75 million arena was designed to offer students and fans comfortable seating and a state-of-the-art spectator experience, including exceptionally well-developed sight lines from every seat in the house. When completed, it is expected to rank among the best on-campus college basketball facilities in the nation. Paige Sports Arena will total 325,000 square feet, with a seating capacity of about 15,000 including private suites and 1,000 "club" seats. A major component of the Paige Sports Arena will be seating for Mizzou students. It features more than 3,000 seats in the lower bowl of the arena to be dedicated to students. Currently, only about 1,000 comparable seats are available in the Hearnes Center. Also included in the Paige Sports Arena will be the University of Missouri Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame and prominent displays celebrating the history of Missouri Basketball. The Tigers will open their 2004-05 campaign in November with their eyes set on a Big 12 Conference Championship and an NCAA Tournament bid.
