Brad Smith Named to O'Brien Award Watch List

July 13, 2004

Columbia, Mo. - The weather is heating up in Columbia, Mo., and so is the pre-season hype for the Missouri Tiger football team. Junior quarterback Brad Smith, already a popular subject of prognosticators, has been mentioned again in prestigious circles.

It was announced yesterday by the Davey O'Brien Foundation that Smith was one of 42 standout quarterbacks to be named to the Davey O'Brien Award pre-season watch list. The award is given annually to the top quarterback in the nation.

On the same day, it was also announced by Collegefootballnews.com that Smith had been selected as the outlet's pre-season 1st-team All-American quarterback.

Smith and his teammates are going through voluntary summer conditioning currently in Columbia, in preparation for the 2004 season, which gets underway on Sept. 4th against Arkansas State at Faurot Field.

Season tickets remain available for the 2004 season, and can be purchased online at www.mutigers.com, or by calling 1-800-CAT-PAWS (884-PAWS in Columbia).
