June 21, 2004

Columbia, Mo.--Rounding out her senior year, Mizzou women's tennis standout Urska Juric continues to see academic accolades roll in. Receiving her latest commendation, Juric was chosen as a CoSIDA Academic All-America third team selection.

The marketing major accumulated a stellar 3.81 grade point average while highlighting as the finest tennis player in Mizzou history. Adding to her academic accolades, Juric was also recognized for the second consecutive season as a first team academic All-Big 12 selection.

Juric's most recent nod comes on the heels of her recently awarded ITA Central Region's Arthur Ashe Award for Leadership and Sportsmanship--an annual award crediting a player who has exhibited outstanding sportsmanship and leadership as well as scholastic, extracurricular and athletic achievements.

The Mizzou senior joins seven other outstanding regional winners each vying for selection as the national award, which will be announced May 23rd. Juric was nominated on behalf of Missouri and had to present a statement for consideration. She was selected by the ITA Central Region Committee.

Setting two standards for Missouri, Juric is the Tiger tennis program's first Academic All-American and ITA Arthur Ashe Award recipient
