Cantwell Wins Again, This Time At Prefontaine

EUGENE, Ore. - Missouri post-collegian Christian Cantwell won his 14th straight shot put final Saturday at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Ore. Cantwell, coming off a flight of 2,100 miles from Atlanta, Ga., won with a toss of 71-4 (21.74m).

Cantwell hit his day's best on his third throw, winning over Adam Nelson by less than 10 inches. Cantwell was just an inch shy of his outdoor season average of 71 feet, 5? inches (21.77m).

Cantwell finished first at yesterday's Titan Games in Atlanta, Ga., winning with a throw of 73-4 (22.25m).

ESPN2 will air tape-delayed coverage of the meet tonight at 8:30 p.m., central. A re-broadcast of the meet will be shown in late July.
