Tony Harvey Resigns as Associate Head Basketball Coach at Missouri

June 18, 2004

Columbia, Mo. - Tony Harvey has resigned his position as associate head basketball coach at the University of Missouri. Below are comments from Harvey and Mizzou Basketball Coach Quin Snyder:

From Tony Harvey

"Today I am resigning as associate head coach. My experience at Missouri has been tremendous, particularly my relationships with the young men I've recruited and coached who have achieved great success on and off the court.

Now that this season's seniors have participated in their graduation ceremonies and next season's freshmen have arrived on campus to begin their Missouri careers, it is time for me to move to the next phase of my coaching career. My first priority is to continue to fully cooperate with the University and the NCAA in order to clear myself of the false allegations that have been made against me during the recent NCAA investigation.

I thank Coach Q, President Floyd, my family and friends, and Mizzou's great fans for their support, and I wish the Tigers continued success."

From Coach Quin Snyder

"Tony was a tireless contributor to our basketball program the last five years. He was an integral part of the initial foundation we established here at Missouri and has helped develop our players both on and off the court. For all of his efforts, I am extremely thankful."
