Odom Resigns as Assistant Basketball Coach at Mizzou

May 11, 2004

Columbia, Mo. - Lane Odom has resigned his position as assistant coach at the University of Missouri. Below are comments from Odom and Mizzou Basketball Coach Quin Snyder:

From Lane Odom

"I am resigning my position as assistant basketball coach at the University of Missouri to pursue other opportunities. It was important to me that I remain on staff at the University of Missouri until a notice of allegations outlining the NCAA's position was received and reviewed. It's now time for me to move forward.

I have been blessed to work with a terrific staff directed by a talented coach and a great person in Quin Snyder. Moreover, I appreciate the support of a caring administration. Most importantly, I will always value the opportunity I've had to coach a special group of players who have worked hard to bring the best to Tiger fans. I have learned so much in my four years at Missouri, and I feel fortunate to have been there.

Under Coach Snyder, the basketball program has established a high level of athletic and academic success. I look forward to following the continued success of the program."

From Coach Quin Snyder

"I thank Lane for his contributions to the University of Missouri basketball program over the last four years. I know he will be successful and wish him only the best in his coaching career."
