Missouri Set to Take on #2 Arizona in a Three-Game Series

Tempe, Az- The Missouri softball team will travel to Tucson to begin a three-game series with the #2 ranked Arizona Wildcats on Friday March 12, Saturday March 13 and Sunday March 14 at Hillenbrand Stadium. The first game is set to begin at 3PM (PST), with the game on Saturday starting at 1 PM and Sunday's game starting at noon.

The Tigers currently hold a record of 10-12, recently taking a win over the #20 Arizona State Sun Devils in game one of a doubleheader on Wednesday. Under the leadership of head coach Ty Singleton the Tigers were able to take game one from the Sun Devils 8-0 before falling in the second game 10-1.

Pitchers Samantha Fleeman, Erin Kalka and Erica Petersen are all expected to see time on the mound in the series with Arizona. The three pitchers have a combined ERA of 2.00 and as a group have managed to strikeout 177 batters in 133 innings played.

Arizona enters the series with a record of 25-0, most recently taking a win over UTEP, 14-6 on Sunday. Wildcats pitchers Alicia Hollowell and Leslie Fox are expected to see action on the mound in the three-game series. Hollowell enters the contest with 0.66 ERA with 202 strikeouts on the season. Reserve pitchers Leslie Fox and Wendy Allen are both 5-0 striking out 38 and 39 batters, respectively.

Tiger fans will get a chance to see their team in action at home next week, as MU will host Southwest Missouri State in a doubleheader Wednesday March 17. Game one is scheduled to begin at 2PM
