COLUMBIA, Mo. - Tiger post-collegians - Christian Cantwell, Derrick Peterson, and Timothy Dunne - will travel to Boston, Mass., for the USA Track and Field Indoor Championships.

Cantwell will be throwing in the men's shot put competition after throwing for 72-? in the Missouri All-Comers meet last weekend. Cantwell is only the second person in the world over the past fifteen years to throw for over 72 feet indoors. Cantwell will be looking for his first chance to represent Team USA overseas as the top two finishers in each event will go to Budapest, Hungary, for the IAAF World Indoor Championships to be held March 5-7. Cantwell was a seven-time all-American and five-time Big 12 Champion while at Missouri.

Derrick Peterson and Timothy Dunne will also be at the event in Boston competing in the 800-meter run. Peterson has the leading seed time in the event clocking in with a time of 1:47.31, which he accomplished at the Tyson Foods Invitational on February 14. Dunne, like Cantwell, in his first year out of a Tiger uniform, ran for a time of 1:50.44 at the Iowa State Classic. Dunne was named an outdoor all-American in 2003 in the event.

Peterson and Dunne run in the preliminary rounds of the 800-meter run on Friday at 12:45 p.m. The finals are slated for Saturday at 4:12 p.m. Cantwell will compete on Sunday at 3:05 p.m. ESPN2 will have television coverage on Saturday beginning at 5:30 p.m., and on Sunday at 5:00 p.m.
