Missouri Drops Five-Game Match to Colorado

BOULDER Colo.-- - Mizzou volleyball fell to Colorado, 3-2 (30-22, 21-30, 30-21, 17-30, 16-14) on Saturday in Boulder, Colo in its fifth five-game match in the last seven outings.

It was a back-and-forth match as the Tigers lost the first game, won the second, lost the third, then won the fourth. Colorado then took the match victory with the 16-14 win in the deciding game.

Jessica Vander Kooi led the Tigers with 17 kills and added 15 digs for her 10th double-double of the season. Shen Danru had her 16th double-double of the year with 16 kills and 16 digs.

Nicole Wilson added 12 kills and Lindsey Noll had 10, while Lindsey Hunter reached the 50-assists mark for the 12th time this year, recording 52 on Saturday. Juliana Godoi and Sara Parks also added 12 digs a piece for Mizzou.

With the loss MU drops to 18-10 overall and 11-8 in the Big 12 and falls to sixth in the conference standings. Colorado improves to 20-8 overall and 12-6 in the conference and is in a tie for third in the standings.

Missouri will close out the regular season next Saturday against Baylor. The match is scheduled to start approximately one hour following the completion of the MU vs. Iowa State football game. The football game will kickoff at noon and the volleyball match should start around 4 p.m.
