COLUMBIA, Mo. - Senior forward Evan Unrau (Fort Collins, Colo.) led all scorers with 26 points and pulled down nine rebounds in the women's basketball team's final intrasquad scrimmage of the 2003-04 season. As part of the annual "Tiger Night of Terror" festivities at the Hearnes Center, the Black team defeated the White, 70-38.

Senior guard Tracy Lozier (Leawood, Kan.) and junior center Megan Roney (Independence, Mo.) led the White team with nine points each. Roney added five blocks, to lead all participants, and a team-leading eight rebounds.

Sophomore guard LaToya Bond (Urbana, Ill.) dished out a contest-high eight assists for the Black team, and senior forward Stretch James (Columbus, Ohio) led all participants with five steals, in addition to grabbing eight rebounds.

Freshman forward Carlynn Savant (Euless, Texas) tallied 13 points for the Black team, joining Unrau as the only two players to score in double figures.

The Black team shot 51.8 percent for the game, and 45.5 percent from three-point distance. The White shot 32.7 percent for the contest, including 14.3 percent from beyond the arc.

"I was pleased with the way we came out tonight," said Head Coach Cindy Stein. "Defense is obviously still the key for us. We have to be able to pull through, and subbing with a full roster will make that easier. We have some things to work out, but I was pleased.

"LaToya Bond's going to do a good job for us. Overall, you have to be pleased with her numbers, but she can still play at a higher level. Carlynn Savant can give us options, as well."

The Tigers open the exhibition season next Saturday, Nov. 8, against Southwest Baptist University. The regular-season begins at Bradley on Sunday, Nov. 23, and the home-opener will take place that Wednesday, Nov. 26, against Southern.
