Oct. 25, 2003

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Senior guard MyEsha Perkins (Detroit, Mich. / Trinity HS) led all scorers with 17 points, and sophomore guard LaToya Bond (Urbana, Ill. / Urbana HS) added a team-high 10 rebounds and six assists at the annual "Brewer Breakfast" at the Student Recreation Center.

While several hundred Tiger supporters and other Homecoming guests enjoyed a free pancake breakfast courtesy of Recreation Services and the Baptist Student Union, the Tigers went through eight 4-minute scrimmage periods with different rotations of players competing against one another.

Perkins was 7-of-17 from the field with a pair of 3-pointers, and also added six assists to join Bond for the team lead. Senior forward Evan Unrau (Fort Collins, Colo. / Rocky Mountain HS) had a solid all-around effort, hitting for 12 points and grabbing nine rebounds to go with four assists and a pair of steals.

Freshman forward Carlynn Savant (Euless, Texas / Trinity HS) wowed the crowd with her shooting, hitting all four of her 3-point attempts and going 5-of-7 from the field on her way to 15 points.

In total, the players combined to shoot 45 percent from the field (30-of-67), including 7-of-14 from 3-point range.

The Tigers' next public scrimmage takes place this Friday, Oct. 31, when they host the annual "Tiger Night of Terror" at the Hearnes Center. A number of events for the children start in the Hearnes Fieldhouse starting at 6 p.m., and the women take the arena floor at 7 p.m. for a brief scrimmage. Mizzou opens the regular season on November 23 at Bradley.
