Missouri Softball Hold Annual Alumni Game

Oct. 10, 2003

Fifteen former players from two decades of Missouri softball history will return to University Field on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003, for the annual alumni softball game at 10 a.m.

Four former All-Americans are among the alumni returning for the Saturday morning softball game. Gina Anderson-Mills, Stacy Gemeinhardt, Kim Slover and current Mizzou softball assistant coach Barb Wright-Riti will all take their turn at various positions throughout the field, challenging the current Tigers in a full seven inning game.

Also returning to Missouri is Mary French-Calder. A member of the first softball team at Missouri in 1975, French-Calder helped her team to a second place finish at the MAIAW State Championships (1975) and a third place showing at the Big Eight Championships (1977).

"We're excited to have so many wonderful athletes returning for the alumni game," head coach Ty Singleton said. "It should be a great experience for our current team members to interact with the women who have helped create and build the program into what it is today."
