Missouri junior Rachael McGinnis has been named to the Midwest All-Region Second team, as voted on by the region's coaches. The selection marks the third time McGinnis has earned All-Region honors. Earlier this month, she was named to the All-Big 12 Conference First Team for the second consecutive season.
McGinnis finished the season with a team leading .384 batting average, which is the fifth best season batting average in Mizzou softball history. She also led the team in hits (58), runs scored (36), RBI (36), home runs (10), slugging percentage (.675), and on base percentage (.453). She started every game for MU at third base and finished with a .971 fielding percentage.
She is the leader in career batting average at Missouri with a .360 mark. She is also fourth in career home runs with 19 and fifth in hits with 184.
The Tigers softball team completed its season with a 31-20 record, a third place finish in the Big 12 Conference and reached the NCAA Regionals for the first time since 1999.
