COLUMBIA, Mo. -

The wind chill in Columbia this afternoon hovered around 10 degrees, but inside the University Natatorium the action was heating up. As flurries of snow fell outside, the Tiger swimming and diving teams played host to in-state rival Southwest Missouri State in dual meet competition.

The women's team (10-1) dominated, winning 11 out of 13 events to easily defeat the Bears, 164-74.

The women's team took the top two finishes in the 400 medley relay. The team of Sarah Lo, Liz Schoborg, Tiffany Bohon and Andrea Nigh finished with a time of 3:51.55, ahead of the team of Amanda Morford, Becca Dawson, Mariona Costa and Katy Chandler (3:56.58).

In the next event, Rebecca Wolfe won the 1,000 freestyle in 10:26.05 with Sarah Stowe finishing third (10:34.44). The Tigers swept the top three places in the 200 freestyle with Lizza Igoe winning the vent with her time of 1:55.61. Sarah Lo (24.76) and Lindsay Palbykin (24.88) finished 1-2 in the 50 freestyle.

Senior Chrissy Frieh won two events on the day. She finished first in the 200 individual medley (2:09.20), ahead of teammates Dawson and Leslie Hoh, and the 200 backstroke (2:08.07), just ahead of Shannon Hollsten (2:10.65).

Dawson's victory in the 200 butterfly (2:05.36), Nigh's top finish in the 100 freestyle (52.41) and Chandler's victory in the 500 freestyle (5:00.48) round out the first place finishers in the meet.

The women's diving team had their best showing to date. Sophomore Anna Massey qualified for the NCAA Zones with her winning score of 268.80 in the 1-meter and added a victory in the 3-meter (258.90) for good measure. The diving team swept the top three places in each board with Amanda Maret (253.28) and JoAnna Lawrence ( 253.13) finishing second and third respectively in the 1-meter and Nicole Frazier (247.13) and Maret (239.18) finishing 2-3 in the 3-meter.

The teams return to action on January 24 for a home dual against Drury University at the University Natatorium. The start time is 5:00 p.m. and will be Senior Day for the men's team. The women's team will have their senior day the following day against Iowa State.
