The Missouri Tiger men's swimming and diving team held on to their day 1 positions and stayed in 4th after day 2 of the Minnesota Invitational. The men's team has 359 points and trails #8 Minnesota (708), #14 Wisconsin (551) and Iowa (420).
The men's team started the day 2 with a fifth place finish in the 200 medley relay. In the next event senior Matt Ferrarelli won the 400 individual medley with a time of 3:52.94. His time provisionally qualified him for the NCAA Championships and in the third fastest time in the country this season. On day 1, Ferrarelli also provisionally qualified in the 200 IM.
Senior Radu Miclaus finished fifth in the 100 butterfly with a time of 50.19. Sophomore Matt North finished seventh in the 100 breaststroke (57.70). Freshman Chris Lukas finished sixth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 51.07 to round out the Tiger top individual performers/
Freshman diver Evan Watters led the diving team with a sixth place finish in a tough 1-meter diving competition.
The team returns to action for the third and final day of the invite tomorrow. The start time for the meet is 10:00 a.m. for the prelims and 3:00 for the finals.
